Opening its doors in the 93, the Public Bar has established itself as an iconic Melbourne venue for music lovers. As a proud sponsor of Melbourne music for decades, the Public Bar has played host to a bevy of performers including the likes of Tim Rogers, The Seedy Three, and 67 Special, just to name a few. The intimacy and lounge room feel of the band room is popular with bands and fans alike, album and EP launches are a specialty.
DJ's - every weekend – mixing a concoction of old school rock’n’roll with new found love, local dj's will keep you here longer than you thought you would. And with a late licence to trade on the weekends, who wouldn’t want to stay?

An outside dining area situated in front of the bar is a great place to soak up some rays while sinking a couple during the summer. Shopping at the Victoria Market (located opposite the Public Bar) is a lot easier when you can reward yourself with an ice cold drink afterwards.

Situated on the fringe of Melbourne's CBD, it is easy to make your way down to the pub. Located in North Melbourne, the pub sits directly opposite one of Melbourne's landmarks, the Queen Victoria Market.

There are two major tram stops within a block of The Public Bar.

Plenty of parking in O’Connell street (running next to pub) and in surrounding streets.

The Public Bar has selection of beer on tap as well as a bevy of bottled beers hailing from countries all over the world. We also have a classic selection of red and whites and of course spirits.
